Challenge Entry: Sticky Note Holder

I made a little present for a friend who's celebrating her birthday. It's a sticky note holder. :)

Since it's the "love month" still, I used heart-y papers from Doodlebug Designs. Some bling from My Mind's Eye. Sentiment stamp from Inkadinkado. Corner punchers from Carl Craft. And the adorable girl stamp is Hero Arts! :) The shape is a die cut from the Accent Essentials cartridge on the Cricut Expression. The ribbon is from my stash.

And here is what's inside. I know, I should have picked the pink pad instead! (facepalm)

My friend is a fan of cutesy little things, so I am sure she'll love this! :)

Challenge Entry: Berry Special

Here's a quick card I put together. Well, I don't think it needs anymore embellies as all the components together already make for a simply and sweet little lovey-dovey card.

Here it goes.

Paper from Doodlebug Designs. Ribbon from American Crafts. Stamps from Papertreyink.

This is for 365 Cards Day 337 - Take Note challenge. The challenge is to use note paper, a sticky note, or some other similar item on a card. For my little card here, I made use of K&Company's Tag Pad - Sweet Nectar.

The colours are inspired by GoFish Challenge #10, which is a colour challenge.

I am piling it on and adding in Top Tip Tuesday challenge. It's a Valentines-themed challenge. And here is my TOP TIP.

A page from a note pad could work as embellies, too. As you can see in my card. Add it on as a layer, and stamp in a sentiment for that extra oomph.

Here's my take on CPS' 5th Anniversary - Day 5 sketch. It's a non-traditional Valentine's card this time. I think I've gotten tired of seeing Reds and Pinks, as those have been the colour tone of the last 4 cards I made. Hahaha...:)

Okay, here it goes...

Card base is kraft cardstock which I embossed using the Divine Swirl folder on the Cuttlebug. The sheer ribbon is from my stash. The floral ribbon is from a prize stash I received from Cheryl. The twine if rom PapertreyInk. The stamp is a Pixie Cottage rubber stamp.

And of course, here is the sketch. I rotated it clockwise.

Okay, here's another card from me for some mid-week inspiration! This time, I used Floppy Latte Designs's Clown Doll digi.

I used papers from Doodlebug Designs. The ribbon is from American Crafts. The circular gear shape was cut with the Accent Essentials cartridge on the Cricut Expression. Edger punch from EK Success. Some ice stickles on the clown doll's hat and suit ruffles. Sentiment Stamps from Inkadinkado and PapertreyInk. The image was coloured with Copics.

I have two cards for you this time. Yay me! :) And when you see the adorable digis I used on my cards, you'll know what I couldn't resist making more than one card. ;)

I am showcasing 2 of the images from Dearie Dolls. I am doing bright and sunny cards in preparation for Spring (which we don't really get here in Singapore *lol*).

Okay, here we go...

Card #1 - Sunflower Smiles

For the DP, I went for October Afternoon. I used both sides of Farmhouse - Faded Wallpaper. I did some faux stitching there. For the card stock, it's American Crafts. The doily lace is from a local craft store. Sentiment stamp is from Inkadinkado.

Card #2 - Best Friends

I fussy cut the image and used some sponge dot to adhere it to the circle shapes I cut with my Cricut Expression. The DP is from a Martha Stewart Paper Pack. The sentiment is from Inkadinkado. The ribbon is from a local craft store. I punched vertical slots on my sentiment strip with an EK Success puncher. Card base is kraft.

I hope you like my "bright" and "sunny" cards. :)

I am getting ready for Valentines! Here's my first lovey-dovey card for 2012!

It is my first time trying to make a "window" card. Quite tricky cutting the circle window from my Cricut Expression. Yay for the "centerpoint" function. :)

Okay, here it goes!

I paper pieced a stamped image from The Pixie Cottage Stamps Love you a Latte Stamp Set by Faith Skrdla. It's the first time I am using this rubber stamp after winning it at The Pixie Cottage Challenge blog for their Challenge #65. I also tried out the technique (frame of hearts) they featured as a tutorial on their Saturday blog post. :) I popped up the cinnamon sticks with foam tape to further add dimension to my image.

Challenge Entry: My Only Dream ( Scrap LO)

New year counts for new creative adventures. So here I am with my first LO to kick off 2012. I used some bold colours on my LO this time. Something new for me, as I am usually inclined to soft pastels.

Here it goes... I titled it "My Only Dream is to Grow Old with You".

Close up on the title details. If you have noticed, I have grown fond of using different lettering for my LO titles. It adds more interest I reckon. ;)

Some detail on the top border embellishment as well. The text is quite fitting to my LO's subject...

Some chipboard and fabric flower for some extra touch.

And of course, the stars of the show (LOL). This is a photo of me and Hubby Cookie taken at the Infinity
Pool side of The Fullerton Hotel here in Singapore. We were celebrating Hubby Cookie's birthday then (November 2009). The photo with our hands clasped was taken during our Pre-Wedding photoshoot in Manila (July 2010), so I didn't have a wedding band there yet just the proposal ring. :)

Design Team Memberships

The new design team members of the 2 Sisters Challenge Blog has been announced! And guess who's in it?? :) Yes, Wifey Cookie made it to the design team!

This is my second DT assignment. The first challenge I am participating in as a new DT member is coming up on Saturday - 7th January. Do watch out for that and maybe join in the fun, too. :)

My first one is at the Chocolate, Coffee & Cards Challenges which I got into in the last quarter of 2011. We're now on our third challenge! And it is a fun one, so check it out! :)

Goodies in the Mail

I was never really excited checking the mail. Usually our mailbox would just contain bills or some fliers. But lately, it is one of the things I look forward to everyday - checking the mail, and finding some nice paper crafting goodies addressed to me! Yay!!! :)

And yesterday, the package I was so looking forward to receive finally arrived. It is the Nikki Sivils Gingerbread Land kit I won from S4All.

An exciting week one for the new year, don't you agree? :)

Sigh. I am surely going to miss doing paper crafts 24/7. From next Monday, I'll be back on the rat race. But I am not sulking, at least aside from Hubby Cookie's generous sponsorship, I can soon personally support my crafting addiction. Hahaha...

Of course, you'll still see projects from me at least once a week for my DT stints at your favourite challenge blogs. And you'd see me stalking and participating in a few challenge blogs here and there, too (crossing my fingers).

Singapore Adventure: Cookie Year 2011 in Paper Crafts

2011 marks my rekindling my passion for paper crafting. So despite of a very slow year for me career-wise, I feel that I am still blessed that I had a great year nurturing my creative side. It maybe cliche but it still holds true, you do need to slow down every once in a while to appreciate the simple things that life has to offers. :)

JULY: My First Cardmaking Challenge

I am more of a scrapper. One day I had an epiphany, why not try card making, and since then I have been totally hooked to this kind of paper crafting.

I joined my first cardmaking challenge in July at the CPS Challenge blog. Here is my very first challenge card. :)

I think I did a good job for a newbie cardmaker with this card. And I also think, I have improved much from this first card, too. I hope you agree. :)

AUGUST: My First Cardmaking Challenge Feature

I will not forget how happy I was finding out that my card was featured in the spotlight at the 365 Cards Challenge blog. It was this card.

SEPTEMBER: A Gift of Cricut Expression

For our first wedding anniversary in September, Hubby Cookie (secretly) got me the Provo Craft Cricut Expression. I was really surprised to receive it as I was not really expecting it. And since September, I enjoy every bit of working with my Cricut Expression. I am now in possession of 6 fabulous cartridges. I have not mastered them all yet. But here is a His and Hers new baby card project I did using the Stretch Your Imagination cart, with Peachy Keen face stamps, and some colouring using Copic Markers.

OCTOBER: Crazy over Copic Markers

During this "time-off", I have acquired some self-taught crafting skills through fantastic paper crafting blogs I come across on a daily basis. The one I am most proud of would be my new gained knowledge of Copic Markers. I can say I somehow understand how to use them. I have not mastered the techniques on how to maximize its use, but I hope to get there someday. I bought my first few markers in October.

Also in October, I was able to attend a Scrapbooking Starter Class at PaperMarket. Well, modesty aside, I don't really need it as I am not one to be considered as a newbie. But I have this class voucher from them, and I am just really curious what usually goes on in paper crafting classes. And it was really worthwhile and an enjoyable experience! Here is the scrap page I came up with during the class. It's been a while since I did 12"x12", so this one is really memorable for me! :)

NOVEMBER: Me as a Guest Designer

A few months into my new craft addiction, I have made lots of blog friends, participated in a hundred different challenges, made over a hundred of cards, won a few challenges and received crafting goodies along the way.

I was even invited to be a guest designer on some challenge blogs. :)

DECEMBER: Holiday Projects Galore

Christmas is my favourite season of the year. And boy did I make tons of holiday projects!

This is my first altered item project - a 2012 Diary.

Here are my vintage Christmas Gift Tags cum Christmas Tree Ornaments. :)

I also did some act of charity alongside my crafting. I sent this card set I made to Hubby Cookie's office to be auctioned off for their charity day. It raised only 17 SGD, but still it's 17 SGD for charity, can't complain there! And at least, somebody is willing to pay at least 17 SGD for my art. :)

Cookies @ Lakeside: Cookie Christmas Tree 2011

I know it's quite late to be posting Christmas Tree photos, but here's ours for this year. It's a 7-foot plastic tree we bought in December 2008.

It's still the same set of ornaments from Christmases past. But I added some pine cone ornaments I got from Daiso for 2SGD for a pack of 15 pieces. And of course, my handmade tags cum tree ornaments. :)

Our tree topper is a "Bride and Groom Bear" we had as a decoration for our "hong bao" box from our September 2010 wedding.

And here's us after setting up the tree. :)

These are the ornaments I made for our tree this year. Well, they are actually tags, but they work as cute vintage tree ornaments, too. So just in case I have a gift tag emergency, I could just pluck one out off the tree. Hahaha. :)

All the dies/shapes were cut out using the Cricut Expression with the Accent Essentials cart. The DPs are from Cosmo Cricket's Dear Mr. Claus.

I am showcasing 2 cards I made with Bugaboo's adorable Little Penguin Winter -

For my first card, I tried my hand at making a tri-fold shutter card. It is a first attempt for me and I am quite pleased with the resulting project.

I used papers from Echo Park's Winter Park collection. The die was cut from Cricut Expression using Accent Essentials cartridge. The Christmas tree is a stamp from Imaginisce which I fussy cut. Sentiment from PapertreyInk. Bling from My Mind's Eye.

For my second card, I went for a "warmer" card with red as primary colour. Here it goes.

I mixed and matched papers from American Crafts and My Mind's Eye. Christmas Baker's Twine from Really Reasonable Ribbon. Button from My Minds's Eye. Corners rounded off with EK Success puncher. The base is kraft cardstock.

Wifey Cookie has started making Christmas Cards!

I am taking orders if you are thinking of sending out handmade greeting cards this year. I am using high quality white cardstock (300gsm, imported from US) for the card base. Card size is 4" x 6". It already comes with a good quality white envelope as well. The inside of the card is blank so you can put in your own words for the greeting.

Here is another set of vintage Christmas Tags from me. These are inspired by Michelle's tag challenge over at the Sketches4All group.

This is the sketch and I kind of went out of the box here by using a different shape for the tag base.

And here are my vintage Christmas tags! I hope you like them. :)

Here's the inside of the tag.

I used papers from Cosmo Cricket's Dear Mr. Claus mini deck. The paper twine and holly embellies are from Annabelle Stamps. Stamps from Inkadinkado and PapertreyInk. All the shapes where cut with the Cricut Expression using the Accent Essentials cartridge.

The DP I used is from Sei called Silver Valley, I used both sides. The stamps are from PapertreyInk - Daily Designs and Daily Designs Sentiments sets. The glittery paper is a scrap piece from a Martha Stewart paper pack. The ribbons and glitter glue are from local DIY stores here in Singapore.

I had so much fun working with this digi, I made another card! I used the same elements as in the first card. Nice? :)

Here's a gift card holder I made for my little godson Dylan. I am not really sure what's best to give him this Christmas so I'd let his parents decide what he needs thus a gift card. :)

I made this with lots of love for this little guy, so I hope that comes across in my gift for him.

Here it goes. A "belt" keeps the gift card holder closed.

Can you believe it, we're counting down to the last 10 days before Christmas?? Wow! The days do whiz by when you're having fun! :)

So, I am here again for another Sketchy Thursdays LO post. This is the third one for my December GDT stint with them. And I am really enjoyed creating this one. The sketch is really versatile and I hope you'll have as much fun playing with it as I did! :)

I titled it Bear-y Christmas. Here it goes...

The photos I used were taken over the weekend at an early Christmas Dinner with some of our dear Cookie friends at The Fullerton Hotel here in Singapore.

Are you liking the "ribbon Christmas tree"? I thought that is a cool idea and very much fitting for this sketch! I glued green and red ribbons back to back and just went zigzag when applying the strip on my LO.

"The Fullerton Hotel just has the most adorable Christmas display this year. The huge tree they have on the lobby entrance is adorned with their signature Teddy Bears! We just couldn't help but snap some photos of it. And of course, we had our photo taken with it, too!"

I received this 2012 Diary from my dear friend Hazel. She knows I'll need it since I will be starting on a new job this coming year. Thanks, Hazel for being so thoughtful!

I thought of jazzing it up a bit. So, I made a custom Christmas-themed cover for it. Well, given a choice, I'd love it to be Christmas all year round! Hehehe...

Here's my take on the latest challenge at Once Upon A... Sketch.

The photos I showcased on my LO where taken last year during our family holiday dinner at the Spiral Restaurant of Hotel Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila. And working on this LO made me a bit emotional. I really miss my family. Especially this year that we're not coming home to Manila for the holidays.

Challenge Entry: Last Minute Gifts

Tomorrow, Hubby Cookie and I will be meeting up with a few friends for our annual Christmas get-together. I was in-charge of setting up a few party games and ice breaker. So aside from needing some time to conceptualise some games, I had to squeeze in preparing a little something for my girlfriends. And so, these are totally last minute! :)

These are my handmade corner bookmarks. I made them specifically with a friend in mind, so the design is somewhat what I think they would like. And to personalise it further, I adorned it with a chipboard sticker of the first letter of their names.

And as I won't have anymore wiggle room for another set of tags or wrapping, I just stamped out a few patterned cardstock with a Christmas Greeting and a To/From.

My scraps of Christmas themed paper is piling up due to the many Christmas cards, and projects I have already done so far.

Cheryl at Sketches4All posted a challenge to use up these craps, and the perfect way to do this is to create small and cute gift enclosures.

Here is my take! :)

These cuties are sized 3"x3". The papers are from Echo Park's Season's Greetings collection. The sentiment stamps are from Inkadinkado.

My festive Christmas tag project was picked favourite at the Annabelle Stamps Blog for their Annabelle Bling Sketch Challenge 044.

It really made my day, and I just can't stop smiling. I am personally really proud of this little project of mine as it is my first attempt at a "shaped" creation. I just usually go for the traditional square or rectangular projects, and this one is a big leap for me.

So, thank you so much for the creative ladies over at Annabelle Stamps for noticing and recognising my work. I will wear your badge proudly on my humble blog!

Here is my take for this week's sketch.

These are photos of me and my hubby at our wedding banquet. We hired a photo booth for the night. It also served as a keepsake for our guests. And of course, at the end of the evening we just had to give it a go ourselves! Being a camera crazy couple, we will definitely not pass up an opportunity like this. Ha! :)

Greetings: Finalist at mywedding's December Couple of the Month

Challenge Entry: Christmas Tree Ornament

I hope to make my own ornaments for our tree this year. So here's an attempt, sort of a prototype if you may. It also depicts a wreath, if it isn't too obvious. Well, at least that was what I was trying to achieve. Hahaha. :))

This one's a bit big - around 6" for the outer scallop, the inner scallop is 3 3/4". All the dies you see in this project were cut with my Cricut Expression using the cartridges Accent Essentials and Storybook.

We are yet to put out the tree, so I just stuck a hanger on the closet to take a photo of my hanging ornament.

Okay, okay, enough talk, here goes...

The inner scallop circle hangs off the bigger scallop, so it turns freely when you hang it. Both sides of the inner scallop is decorated with similar embellishment. :)

All paper used here is from Echo Park's Season's Greetings. I LOVE ECHO PARK!!! :)
