Singapore Adventure: Last September Weekend

Today was a really fun day for the Cookies.  A plenty of "firsts" for us... :)

1.  In search of plastic sleeves for my cards, we ventured into the shopping jungle that is Bugis. We've been to the Bugis MRT station several times already. But we have never really visited the popular shopping destination across.  Unfortunately, we didn't find what we came for.  But I got a few tips from my friend Pipay on where I could find the sleeves.  According to her, it should be there in Bugis but in a different area of the shopping complex.  We might give it another shot next weekend.

2.  After Bugis, we headed to Raffles Shopping Centre. There were a lot of people milling around in that area due to the F1 Grand Prix going on this weekend.  But we know where were going so it was easy navigating through the crowd.  Of course, what's Wifey Cookie's favorite shop at Raffles Shopping Centre....?  Paper Market! :) I finally got my VIP Card.  Wanna see...?

While there, I picked up a few new supplies. Some yellow ribbon...  New additions to my stash, the first 2 yellows. :)

A new stamp set from Studio Calico (my first of this brand) and ink pad.  And some Prima flowers.  I've always been fascinated how to incorporate flowers into layouts.  So maybe I'll give that a shot in the challenges coming up this week.

3. We had a late lunch of Mushroom Stroganoff at The Soup Spoon. After lunch, we went for a little stroll and found that the Once Upon a Milkshake booth is already open.  We gave there Chocolate Truffle Milkshake a shot.  It was nice, but not worth the price.  A medium cup costs 5.70SGD. And there really isn't anything special about it.  Probably just the name. :)

4.  After all the shopping, we finally headed off to my godson Dylan's first birthday party.  It was a fun party.   The kids were dressed as super heroes and they were all so adorable.  The magician was quite entertaining as well.  Kids and adults alike had a great time. :)

It was quite a long day, but a really fun one, especially it being spent with my Hubby Cookie, a bit of shopping, and a fun party! :)  A great way of capping off September 2011.

So to all my friends who asked for it.... Wake up! Wake up! September is coming to an end.

Singapore Adventure: Sunny Yellow

This is a lovely photo of the Cookies with Dylan.  What a coincidence that Dylan was also in a yellow shirt.  So cute, right?

April had a little party for her little girl Keyla.  And they happened to have the same birthday - 09 April!  Too bad we were not able to take a photo with the birthday girls. :)  But it was really nice catching  up with my girlfriends even just for a few hours.

Singapore Adventure: Barbecue Party @ Rivervale Crest

Rivervale Crest Condo

I went to cook barbecue at the Rivervale Crest condo where Jet, Fred and Hazel has found dwelling here in Singapore. They are throwing a house warming/despedida/congratulations/welcome home party.

I did the marinade for the chicken barbecue. Of course, the famous vinegar sauce ala Princess Cookie that goes very well with barbecue is a must.

I also prepared cucumber salad for a side dish. I am getting quite fond of the cucumber while here. Somehow, I am starting to acquire the "local tastebuds". Hahaha... :D

The grilled pork (smothered with salt and pepper) and (plain) tiger shrimp kebabs are credited to Fred. Hehehe...

And later in the night, a little Magic Sing session was put in place as well. Little because there were only me, Jet, Hazel and Jas left to belt it out.

The Mandy Moore songs were a must for me. ;) And of course, my usual repertoire of songs - Close to You by the Carpenters, Looking Through the Eyes of Love by Melissa Manchester, and a lot others that Jet made me sing. :P

The singing stopped at around 2:00 am the next day. We are self-confessed Magic Sing addicts, so no need to rub that in. Hahaha...

Around 9:00 am, I went home to my own nest to get some house chores done, a long shower, and some Skype time with my Prince Cookie. By 3:00 pm, I was back at the threesomes abode to wreck havoc on Fred's Nintendo Wii.

The Wii Fit games, I found most enjoyable, specifically the Tennis game. It was fun! Fred even helped me out in making my very own Mii. ;) Will need ask Fred if I can have a snapshot of it to post here. Hehehe...

The Cooking Mama game was also nice. But I don't think I can be a master at it anytime soon. Need to get the "real" cooking perfect first, I guess.

There was also a small spaghetti and KFC fried chicken dinner party to send off Fred and Jet's friends to cap off the evening.

That was my weekend. Off to another work week. Sigh.

P.S. Say I already lost some weight. Please. :D

Farewells

Hazel's Despedida Party

As all journeys begin and are bound to end, farewells are always due. One to give our friend a wonderful memory to hold on to as she moves on to her next adventure, and two, to celebrate the great experiences we shared while still together.

And the one we collaborated to throw for Hazel was a blast!!!

She had a lot of guests to wish her well. And the week long work done for her Farewell Scrapbook was all paid off seeing the sparkle on her eyes upon receiving it. *Ehem ehem*

Thanks to everybody who wrote touching messages, and shared a part of them in that little scrapbook project for Hazel. ;) You should have seen her teary eyes and know that she appreciates the good thoughts we all put in there for her.

During dinner time, the flow of food, stories, and fun chatter was unstoppable. But of course, pausing for a quick camera click was always welcome. Here is a photo of The Cookies taken with Hazel's camera.

This is my most favorite Cookie picture as of the moment. Do you see fat Cookies here...? Hehe.. Thanks, Hazel! Keep that camera shooting. ;)

But Hazel wasn't the only one treated for a surprise. Yen and Stan planned out a little surprise for me, Jet and Fred, too. A huge card of well-wishes from our team at AIU-RP. We were really touched as we really didn't expect it. Thanks for the great effort, Yen and Stan. We all know how busy everyone is, but you still went out of your way to set it up for us. Doumo!!! ^_^

What better way to finish off a fun evening but with a group picture... with Piolo Pascual...?! :D

Thanks for putting a nice cherry topping on my big pot of AIU-RP golden memories. ;)

Princess Cookie Surprise Birthday Party

Room 2317, Prince Plaza II

My Prince Cookie threw me a surprise birthday bash at the Prince Plaza II. He gathered all my friends and my family to celebrate my 27th birthday with me. I was really clueless of all the planning and organizing that went on. He said the event took a week to prepare. And all his effort and those of my friends who helped out in the execution of the plan paid off because the party was a success. I can still hardly believe he was able to plan the entire thing behind my back and all of my friends know how nosy I am. This only proves that my Cookie is the sneakier one. Haha...

My family came, Mama, Shoti and Jhoy, and Shobe. That was a real surprise since they came all the way to Makati from Kalookan just to surprise me! Thanks, family! Love you all. My college buddy Khends was there. She said that her employees did not get their pay that day because she had to leave the store early to pick up the food for the party. Thank you! I hope your workers don't hunt me down. My kumares Iris, Ali and Eileene were there. Another bunch of sneaky gals! We were actually arranging a meeting for Monday. All along they have been working on the surprise. Thanks, kumares! My AIU-RP friends Captain Jet, Stan, Hazel and Yen were there, too. Thanks for the present and for the instant "concert" care of Capt. Jet's Magic Sing. Loved it! :D

Thanks George and Pia for dropping by. It must have been a really hectic day for you guys having to prepare for George's Germany busines trip. Thanks for the wine. Yum! Thanks neighbor Vicel and Jessica. I appreciate you guys taking the time off from your bonding time to drop by and celebrate with me on my birthday. Vicel and Jessica got me something from the Body Shop. Thanks for the thought, appreciate it very much.

To entertain my guests, I rendered several song numbers. Thanks to the Magic Sing care of Capt. Jet. I got a 93 for my rendition of Natalie Imbruglia's Torn and a 95 for Looking Through The Eyes of Love. The latter song is of course dedicated to my one and only dearest Prince Cookie. Yihee...!

Iris, Capt. Jet, Hazel, Yen, and Vicel also did some songs. It was a fun videoke jamming time. I really have to get one of that. And Capt. Jet, you really have to bring yours to Singapore! Hehehe...

At the end of the day, all the wonderful things that had happened today could have not been possible if not for the efforts of my Prince Cookie. I really enjoyed the day. Thanks so much, my Cookie, for making my 27th birthday very, very, VERY special.
